Extra knowledge from me to you
Watch, use and grow your online business with my free online materials
It all starts with the first email.
Although all customers are different, it all comes down to the fact that they want to better use the potential of the Internet for their business.
Simply put: they want to acquire more customers and therefore earn more money. And it’s my job to help them do that.
Stage I – website valuation, contract
In the first stage of cooperation, I ask: what will the website be about?; what do you do? – this is to evaluate the future website.
Then I ask: what tabs would you like to place on the website and what will be in them?
It would be helpful if you could send me sample links to other sites similar to your business.
If it is a store, what type of products will you sell – physical or e.g. digital? how many of these products will there be?
If these are physical products, e.g. clothing or jewelry, then: are they products with variants?
These questions are necessary to fairly price a website or online store. If the price suits you, I issue an advance invoice for 30% of the value of the estimated project and send you a contract for the development of the website.
Stage II – hosting and domain, materials for the website
At this stage I ask: have you already purchased a domain (website address) and hosting? If not, I will advise you where you can buy it.
Then you send me your domain login and hosting details and I start working.
You send me materials for the website: texts, your comments, photos. If you don’t have your own photos, I use my resources – I have access to paid photos that you don’t pay for.
When creating websites or stores, I use the Astra Pro theme, for which I have a license, and YOU have all updates included in the price of the website.
Each website design is individual and I create it according to the client’s needs. First, I design the home page and send it to you for review. If you like the design, I continue building the site.
Finally, I send you your WordPress login details and my video on how to edit the website, so that you can make changes yourself easily.
At the end, of course, I issue a transfer invoice due within 5 days.
Below I will show you what to pay attention to when choosing a company/person to create a website.
DO NOT choose an agency to create a WordPress website, only sole proprietorships.
Because of a few reasons. The first is price. From your remuneration for the website, the Agency must maintain its office, pay the bills, the sales representative, the web designer and the owner.
When you choose a freelancer to create your website, you only pay for the time he or she spends on creating your website.
Such people have low costs of maintaining their business, which has a direct impact on the price for the customer.
The second reason is difficult communication. In an agency, you sign a contract with one person and provide your instructions and requirements, another person will create the website. In case of corrections or various problems, there isn’t just one person who is responsible for your website.
The client is usually treated as an object, not as a subject. And this is not my invention. People are overwhelmed by cooperation with agencies and are very reserved and distrustful when talking about their website.
Websites on WordPress and SEO positioning optimization
If you need a website, you would definitely want it to have as much traffic as possible. Even the best website without traffic is worthless and pointless, like a store in the forest – no one will go there.
That’s why you’re probably thinking about promoting it so that as many people as possible learn about it. If you want to outsource internet marketing to third parties. It is best that they are the same people who created your website.
At least they have enough knowledge about websites to optimize them well for SEO. It is impossible to position a website effectively without good SEO optimization. Sounds like a cliché? Not completely.
SEO positioning – pay ONLY for the effect
The dishonesty of companies is one side of the coin, ignorance and gullibility are another. Don’t sign anything if you don’t have even the slightest knowledge. And, of course, the most important thing – pay for the effect.
When ordering a website from me, my clients have optimization as standard. It doesn’t matter if it’s just a company website or an e-shop. The website is always SEO optimized for the Google search engine.
If the client tells me during the interview that he cares about effective positioning, he offers more advanced positioning, which I can offer as an additional service.
If one company creates a website and the other deals with positioning, communication is difficult and if there are no results. The search for the culprit begins, and you lose time, customers and, as a result, money.
By choosing one person, you can be sure that he will take full responsibility for your website.
Website creation – ask about later website editing
Always ask about editing your website later. It’s best if you can do it yourself quickly and easily. That’s why it’s worth choosing WordPress websites.
I provide my clients with a link to my original videos on YouTube, where I explain in an understandable way how to edit a website step by step.
Thanks to this, they can easily do it themselves. Besides, they can always count on my support.
Request a copy of your website
When something goes wrong and your website goes down, you need to have a copy of it that you can restore. If the website is based on the well-known WordPress. There will be no problem even restoring a backup copy of the website yourself. There are WordPress plugins like All In One Wp Migration that will quickly and easily pack your website into one file that you can then import.
Ask who is the legal owner of the domain for your website
If you don’t have a domain purchased and a website creation company is going to do it for you, make sure that you are the domain owner. There have been cases where customers left the company that created their website in pain and there was a big problem with the domain, because – officially – the company creating the website was its owner. Remember! The domain is your property.
When choosing a domain and hosting, do at least a little research on both prices and quality of services. Don’t always rely on price. The most popular and expensive service providers, whose names I do not want to mention here, do not always provide services at the highest level.
And fast and trouble-free hosting is one of the foundations of your e-success. I also warn against the cheapest or – even worse – free hosting.
Always seek the opinion of someone who has already purchased a service from a given operator and can evaluate the company from experience.
Be very cautious about opinions on the Internet, which are (often) written to order. When it comes to prices, find out what it looks like after a year when extending the services.
Typically, if something is cheap or free in the first year, you will end up paying a lot when you renew. This mainly applies to the largest service providers on the market.
Website services for companies
The next topic aims to make you aware of the potential of a website for your company. This applies especially to small local companies for which a presence on Facebook is sufficient, which only requires setting up a profile, uploading a logo and 3 entries to get started. And this is often where the marketing presence of companies on the Internet ends.
The opinion that a website is really unnecessary and is just a nice addition to a business card comes from the fact that many companies set up a website in the hope that it will be enough and the website will “earn money for us”.
Companies do not want to invest in promoting their business online because they either do not know how to do it or they have unpleasant experiences with unfair practices, which I wrote about above.
There is often a belief that effective advertising on the Internet must be free, because the Internet itself is free, Facebook is free. Companies don’t want to invest money in internet marketing.
A website alone is not enough, you need to invest in promotion
Unfortunately, this is no longer possible at the moment. Gone are the times when 10-15 years ago it was enough to have a website or a Facebook fanpage to reap profits and “catch” a lot of customers.
Today, posting ads on Adverts or a few posts on Facebook is definitely not enough.
However, as I said, you have to invest money in promotion. I don’t understand entrepreneurs who refuse to do this and at the same time spend huge amounts of money on activities that bring poor results, such as leaflets, banners or advertisements in newspapers that no one reads.
Compared to these traditional forms of advertising, internet marketing is actually relatively cheap. For example: operating in a city with a population of approximately 10,000, you are able to reach everyone who uses Facebook with your Facebook advertising. The cost is approximately €100. Which traditional advertising for this amount will give you such an effect?
